The first time I did macro, I had SUCH a difficult time. So I decided I wanted to try again and get better. One of the reason I had such a hard time with macro was because we were in groups and we were timed. The second attempt I did was on my own and I had the time to compose my images how I wanted to. My good friend Shane was kind enough to let me use his macro tubes for a week or so. I’m so grateful he let me! It allowed me to re-try something that I thought I wasn’t good at.
All of these were shot with my Nikon D90, 70-300, with macro tubes. I used a flashlight as an external light because macro tubes cut down the light so much. Eventually I’d like to purchase my own macro tubes so that I can experiment more with this special type of photography. I hope you enjoy these images as much has I enjoyed making them!

I’m fangirling pretty hard over here. Macro is my favorite kind of photography and you really nailed these! I love the image right under the clock with the numerous water droplets on the red surface (a petal?) and the way you captured the light shining through the pea pod. Well done!
